Here is Paul Kulba (left) and Don Hudson both avid snowmobilers from Balwinivlle NY they went to "work" the race not take part in it. Paul was a cook at A-2-562 "Site Tare" in the 1965 era.

Probably more famous is the "Iditarod Dog Team Race"

A memorial to Joe Redington who was the founder of the Iditarod Race stating in 1973. The race follows the old mail route to Nome.

Moose Creek At the peak of the hill would have been the IFC/Admin building for A-2-562 "Site Tare" . Nothing remains of that building but the launcher buildings are in tact and being used by the Chena River flood control project.
About 1/2 way between Site Tare and Fairbanks was North Pole Alaska becuse of the name "North Pole" they had a thriving business a Santa House.

Fairbanks and Eielson AFB may not had parking meters but they had thes "hitching posts" Cars/Trucks were kept plugged in so they were easier to start.
