Here are some photos from Anchorage on Thursday

We started Thursday afternoon here some of the  Vet's are waiting to sign-in and receive their welcome packet.

During the event staff from The University of Alaska Fairbanks did interviews with the speakers and some of the Vet's. These interviews will be posted on the University's web site at " Project Jukebox"  link to that is the following www.jukebox.uaf.edu/  Here they are interviewing Dr. Sergei Khrushchev our Keynote speaker for the event. Dr. Khrushchev also went with us on Friday to Site Point for that portion of the event.

A welcome reception was held at the Anchorage Aviation Museum before we were bussed to the University's Wendy Williamson Auditorium for Sergei's presentation. Taking a photo is "Clinton" a Professional Photographer that accompanied us on the Anchorage part of our trip.

At the Aviation Museum two of the planning committee posed for photos. Here we have Barbara Propes and Jim Renkert.  Barbara is Chief of Staff for the Lt. Governor of Alaska and Jim is the Director of Friends of Nike Site Summit. Members of your reunion committee met with them at the SF-88 reunion last year and we discussed this event with them then. They and the rest of the planning committee put a tremendous amount of work into this to make it a huge success.

Thanks for all the hard work!!!

On display at the Museum is the remains of the "Seattle" one of a flight of US Navy planes that were the first to fly around the world in 1924. The Seattle crashed in dense fog near Port Moller Alaska. A link to information on that flight below.
